Co‑op Education Coordinator, Jolie Adam, showed the students at Sac State how to make Mediterranean Freekeh, a young, green whole wheat that is toasted and cracked. Freekeh is a whole grain that is high in fiber and protein. Every October 24, thousands of events all around the country bring Americans together to celebrate and enjoy real food and to advocate for improved food policies.
At the Coloma Community Center families had a great time dressing up in costumes, playing festival games and enjoying organically grown apples from the Co-op.
